If you suspect a load you tendered has been quietly handed to another carrier, here’s how to check – fast, before the freight is gone.

Step 1: Compare carrier details to dispatch

Pull up what you booked. Does the truck number, trailer, and driver name match what’s showing up? Mismatches are an immediate flag.

Step 2: Check the MC/DOT on the BOL

The carrier identifiers on the bill of lading should match the carrier you contracted. If they don’t, the load has likely changed hands.

Step 3: Verify the pickup location and identity

Was the load collected where and by whom you agreed? An unexpected pickup location or company is one of the strongest signals of double brokering.

Step 4: Question the driver

A legitimate booked driver can confirm load-specific details. Hesitation or wrong answers are a warning.

Step 5: Search the load boards

If your load is re-posted, someone is trying to re-broker it.
